Frist, let's try to NOT focus on price/cost for the moment. My CHEIF complaint is the QUALITY of the food. I have been in this hospital for about two weeks now. For this amount of time, I have found that the ONLY safe thing to eat in this place is the salad crackers in the kitchenette area on the room floors.
I have for the last week had the misfortune of having to buy my food from the cafeteria in this hospital. As I have told John, this is the worst food in a health care facility. Your burger grill is mediocre at best. A $5 burger should have a taste. You buns should be toasted. (No not one of the five burgers I had have either.) At the cost of $5 for just the burger, and the poor quality of them, I opted not to try anything else from there. (The fries looked soggy. The chicken wings appeared under cooked as did the strips.)
Just so you know I am REALLY complaining about the food first and foremost. Let's have a talk about the FREE panda meals. How can they be called Ham or Turkey when there is virtually no meat on them. ( I saw the same issue at the Sub station.)The tomatoes in both the Panda meals and in the cafeteria were not firm. The only thing in the cafeteria that was good is the ice cream. (Down side to this is the cost quantity, but that's a given anywhere.)However, We pay $4 for 4oz? NOT a pleasing deal.
I've voiced these complaints to anyone that will listen. I have been stonewalled by the Managment in the Food Court. I even spoke to John LeRoy. Though he sent a small I'm sorry we suck package, and was a nice man, he like others only heard me complaining about the cost.
If that is all that is going to be heard, I will voice a complaint about that. There is only a $.20 to $.40 difference between Employee and visitor. I truly feel sorry for the employees there. I mean the food is worst than school food, and they have to pay that. The patients and/or visitors cost are even worse. As I have told Mr.LeRoy, for what we are charged for everything in this hospital, there should be better food.
Please tell Mr LeRoy, for the Hospital soup Potatoes and Leeks, omit all salt. Leeks has a high enough salt content that no added salt is needed. If you soak the Leeks before you cut them, you will remove not only the dirt between the leaves; you will cut the natural salt by 1/3.
